Renault is a Half-Elf Paladin. He is played by Marc Peasgood.

Renault has more distinctly elvish looks than human. His eyes are very sharp, and bright shining yellow in color. His nose is short and rounded. Several small scars are on the left hand side of his jawline. His ears are very human in appearance although they do have a small pointed tip to them.

Background[]
Renault is the son of a farming family who call Sunsreach their home. The Elvish and Human populace that reside in Sunsreach shun the worship of the gods that the rest of the Kingdom follow, instead offering their praise to the sun god Solipsis (although unknown to them this sun spirit is actually a version of Sator).
One day whilst toiling in the orchards, Renault was surprised to be face to face with a Sunsprite; a fey creature that somewhat resembled a frog with butterfly wings which glowed with incandescent light. The Sunsprite informed Renault that he was destined to become one of the lands greatest protectors and that the light of the Sun shone brightly from within him. Stunned, Renault knelt down and began a prayer to the Sun god - sure enough the sky above cleared itself of clouds and the sun shone brightly down upon him and the land.
A calm voice reverberated throughout, as if the heavens themselves were speaking; it instructed Renault in the tenents of the Ancients and asked him to swear an oath, which he did. By the time the spectacle was over a small crowd had gathered to witness what many would go on to call a miracle.
Several years have passed since that day, the day that Renault took up the title of Paladin of the Ancients. He has protected the town of Sunsreach with fairness and honor but the time has come for him to turn his gaze elsewhere as a creeping insidious shadow is slowly spreading across the land to the east...
